Es el primer álbum de Slayer para ofrecer al guitarrista Gary Holt de Éxodus y la primera en presentar el baterista Paul Bostaph desde el 2001 God Hates Us All. Repentless es también el primer álbum de Slayer tras la muerte de Jeff Hanneman en 2013.
